They didn't have to make the sports cars slow as such, but maybe limit their top speed by 30% off road compared to 10% slower for big modded 4x4's. But it just seems like a bad design decision. The only tactic will be to choose the fastest car in the game. If I chose a 4x4 SUV I may not keep up so well when chasing other players in Cops 'n Crooks, but i'd have the advantage if I could force them into Blaine County and off the main roads, but now it seems that will not be a valid tactic.
I was hoping for some tactical decisions in which vehicle to choose. It's just a bit unrealistic in single player, but in GTA: O it's going to make it kind of stupid. Sports cars are fastest on the road, and off the road for the most part. It kind of makes the big SUV's pointless 99% of the time. Not only that, but sports and exotic cars seem really pretty capable at handling rough terrain such as steep inclines as well. The big SUV's, and even the 4x4 SUV's, are actually slower on the dirt tracks than sports cars.
To start with, I do really like the car handling in this game, and I love the game in general.īut this has kind of annoyed me from the start.
